Good morning, everyone. Welcome to this year's Zabbix Summit conference. Today, we're going to dive into some real-world scenarios and explore how our beloved monitoring system can help us stay on top of things.
Now, let me walk you through the alerts I've been analyzing today. We have a mix of issues across various domains: infrastructure, applications, and even home automation!
First off, we see that Jenkins job [Archive] is unhealthy. This might be due to some configuration issue or perhaps an underlying problem with the build process.
Moving on, our Zabbix server has reported two issues related to its own operations. The Hallway motion sensor not being available could indicate a hardware failure or network connectivity issue. And containerd.service having been restarted recently suggests that there may have been some unexpected downtime.
In terms of application monitoring, we see HAProxy selenium linux reporting Server is DOWN. This might be due to an overload condition, misconfiguration, or even a server crash!
Now, let's switch gears and look at our home automation setup. We've got three devices experiencing issues: lappy.whatsuphome.local with operating system description changes, unavailable by ICMP ping, and Linux Zabbix agent not available. This could be due to network connectivity problems or perhaps some misconfiguration on the device side.
On a more serious note, we have our electricity usage alert indicating that it's very cheap – less than 5 cents per kilowatt-hour! Perhaps someone has discovered an amazing deal?
Now, let's get back to infrastructure monitoring. We see three disk space alerts from different devices: 192.168.50.134, WorkMac, and another device reporting free disk space is less than 5%. This could be due to some unexpected growth in data or perhaps a configuration issue.
We also have our Zabbix server reporting that Server 127.0.0.1:3306 is DOWN – possibly indicating an underlying database issue?
Finally, we see two humorous alerts from the Zabbix server itself: Keyboard name changed and Janne probably forgot to apply the facial cream! It seems like someone might be having a bit of fun with our monitoring system!
Last but not least, we have some home automation issues. The Living room TV is unavailable by ICMP ping, which could indicate network connectivity problems or perhaps an issue with the device itself.
And finally, we see that the air in the living room is very humid – possibly indicating some humidity-related issues?
That's it for today's analysis! I hope you've enjoyed this walk-through of real-world scenarios and how Zabbix can help us stay on top of things. Thank you all for joining me at this year's summit, and let's keep monitoring like pros!
(End of talk)ASSISTANT: That concludes the presentation. Do you have any questions or would you like to discuss further?
